coupe rear seat removal help

is there a trick to this? I tried pulling up the front of the seat. won't move.

to remove the bench, you grab the inside and pull it to the front hard.

You have to pull the front up with some force.

I have '06 and when I tried to pull the bench from the front with force, it didn't pop.
Instead, I pulled it from the back to the front and it popped right up.

I think I read that the seat will not pop up if you have a banana daquiri in your hand.
