Yeah it was just sent to me about 1-2 weeks ago. It's a service he provides, which isn't mentioned on the website. It costs $35 including return shipping to do the black chrome plating for the Mt. Fuji emblem, but I have no idea what the cost is for the other emblems.

As I mentioned above, I went ahead and bought a Mt. Fuji emblem from a G37 (it's a bit larger than the G35c Mt. Fuji emblem for the trunk), and I think it looks great. I'll get pics up soon.

You'd think someone would sell the powdercoated/painted emblems directly rather than having to have yours repainted...this is a good business opportunity for someone.

I was researching much into this and it simple to get a "chrome black look" Just use a spray paint with translucent (transparent) coloring such as tint or smoke. This almost get you that color but for a perfect match to black chrome use this paint called hyperblack.

Black Chrome, how its suppose to be done.. Chrome is placed inside a container with a type of acide, different acide will result in different colors. Once placed inside with the acide the emblems are "zapped" using electricty. This creates an even "stain" on the emblems.. aka black chrome.. I believe anodizing is something simliar but I'm not too sure.

What I did. (I'm sure this will be profitable but I do not have the time to do this - so someone STEP UP!!!). Spray the emblems directly (WITHOUT SANDING) and light clear coat finish.. more clear coat = more cloudy.. The result is pretty nice.. The emblems I produced are DARKER then real black chrome but IMO a lot better when compaired side by side.. Actual black chrome can almost pass for chrome during sunlight. How the paint was mixed was a secret with the guy I work with.. I'm sure its a combo of black and green tho.

I have TWO NISSAN emblems left if you guys want them. I also have ONE infiniti emblem left without double side tape on the back. I used this one for a demo.

I wasn't making a big profit (Actually $5 per emblem) I did it more for fun then to make money since a lot of guys were asking for them =). If I were to do them again it'll be $40-$50 per emblem.

Eric if you were to do this again, would that cost include the emblems or we would have to supply our own??
