Hit some debris on highway which caused this, how do I fix it? Please help.

I had my OB 06 sedan for only three months and of course $hit happens when your work commute is 45miles each way. So I'm cruising on the highway and out of nowhere comes a chunk of wood (seemed like a chunk of particle board) straight at me, I tried to swerve but it was too late, the chunk collided with lower passenger side portion of the bumper and caused this damage. At first it looked even worse than what is pictured. There was a huge scuff with a lot of peeling what seems like a clear coat or clear bra. I'm not sure what that thin film could be. Anyway the scuff sorta came off with the scratch remover, but the area where film peeled away is very apparent. What is it? How do I fix it? Really don't want to go to a professional for something this small, but it just bothers me to look at it. Could somebody please help me? Thanks!

I'm actually planning on installing OEM front lip, hopefully it'll cover up most of this ugliness, it will have to do for now. So what is this clear film, is that clear coat?

no. the clearbra is by 3M and other companies. It's basically a clear film over your bumper/hood/headlights to block debris from chipping away at the paint.

But since you already chipped it. You need to repaint it first then put the bra on.
