A wooden baseball bat is not hard to use...

Is it really easy to do it yourself with a baseball bat? I keep reading people recommending this but is it really easy to get in there and push on the bat to roll the fender? I hear about people cracking their paint and so on. I guess if they don't use a heat gun that's bound to happen.

I used a heatgun AND a pvc pipe the size of a baseball bat. And I cracked my paint, also worse I slightly deformed the metal outwards noticeably, so if you look at the fender standing any distance from the car you can see it. And I'm a really handy guy, I knew exactly what I was doing, but I wasn't able to get it done without warping the fender and cracking the paint.... I really don't recommend this do it yourself unless you really REALLY know what you're doing and you've done it successfully before.

I did it myself the first time with abs pipe and didn't crack the paint Sounds like you either didn't heat the paint enough or you tried to roll too much in a single pass. My guess is the latter

you have to go very slow and lots of passes, our club has the tools I have mastered the art of it

well I got touch up paint pen from the dealership so cracked paint isnt my biggest problem, it's the slightly deformed fenders and also the fact that I didn't even get a full fender roll with this method, only partial. I'm just gonna take it to my local shop and have it done by pros, obviously I cant do it myself. I think the one thing I didn't do right is that I didn't have the proper angle to roll with the pipe, the angle I was rolling at was not right because I used my wheels and tires as support and they were too tucked for the angle I needed for the full roll.
Also the paint didnt crack right away, it happened a few days after, but I got my touch up pen handy.
