Door lock actuator 05 G35 Coupe

Looks like I need a new door lock actuator for my driver side door. When I lock my door with my fob or inside with the door panel the driver side door lock just moves a little and doesn't fully engage.

My car is just out of warranty and I called the dealership and they want $220 for the part and 2 hours labor (it would cost me over $500).

I am thinking of doing this myself, but I can't find the part anywhere online.

Could someone help me out?

Thanks

-Paul

Send a Private Message to Mike@riversideinfiniti or Rick@riversideinfiniti one of them can get you the part for cheaper than your dealer

Can anyone tell me if this is the part that I need?

"lock actuator, g35, left, w/premium pkg. 05-07 $66.18"

I found it at www.infinitipartsonline.com

I am guessing by left they mean driver side?

Can anyone please confirm before I order this?

Thanks

Hi all.. i need a driver side door lock actuator myself as well. i called my dealership and they wanted 220 as well which is pretty stupid! my warranty just ran out a month ago also so not too pleased with this.

in any case, i looked up on www.infinitipartsonline.com as well but was confused as to which one i need. I drive a 04 g35 coupe. could someone help as to which one i need? i think this is the one but i need confirmation:

Lock actuator, g35 03-04 $100.50

Electrical - Body electrical - Front door - Lock actuator

please help.. thanks in advance!

------------------------------------
EDIT - so I just called infinitipartsonline and they told me that I need to buy the lock with the actuator because the motor is inside and therefore you cannot replace just the actuator. The new price for the lock and actuator would be 149.60. This sounds fishy so I wanted to know if you guys can help out.

Thanks!!

Yeah they just called and told me the same thing.
I would need the whole lock and actuator because it comes as a kit and it would cost me $188. Seems stupid just to be able to replace a small motor.

If you bought this car in parts it would cost a million dollars.

I just found that mine has the same problem. Although the remote works fine, inside the car the unlock button only opens the passenger door...and my warranty just expired

Mine don't work only when it's hot outside, driver side & passenger side. I have to hold the key fab down to open the window. I have an 04 coupe, and yes my warranty expired. It's a Nissan problem, same thing with my wife's 03 Murano.

By the looks of it, this seems to be a very common problem. Whatever cheap motors they were using I hope Nissan stopped using them after all these reports of failures.

I expect better from a 50k car.

I was working on the speakers on my front doors last weekend and I noticed that the cable that goes to the door lock came unclipped from the door panel. Just something easy to check in case you've had the panels removed before this started happening.

Has anyone had their door lock actuator work intermittently (2003 coupe)? Mine quit for a week (passenger side; just as the first post described -- when I lock my door with my fob or inside with the door panel the door lock just moves a little but doesn't fully engage) then spontaneously started working again for several days, now isn't working again.

If this just is a conditional thing, I don't want to spend $200 to replace the actuator. And if you replace the actuator, are you getting a new crappy actuator that will just fail again or a better actuator??
