What was the result?

I know you had to have had more common sense than to paint a large car part outside.

With all the critters and flying crud in the air you are only asking for stuff to be attracted to it.

Silver has always been a hard color to paint and to match up.

I was thinking about doing this to my front bumper(taking it to a professional) and then adding some of that 3m clear bra stuff.

why would you ever do a clear bra? Color matching is pointless at that point as you can see there is a bra on the car. It protects from chips, but now you have a big coat of plastic standing out. Better off just using some higher quality paint and a tough clear coat all over.

Thanks for all the inputs guys! Here's the stuff that's been painted,..
By the way, after seeing the stuff installed on the car again, I know its not perfectly done, but I just realized that it beats having the nasty rock chips and scrapes (used to have license plate holes too). Also, I may add that the lip is now better than the previous paint which i payed for $190 at a professional auto paint shop
