Tired of rock chips and scrapes

Got bored this weekend and finally decided to get rid of those nasty rock chips on my front bumper! While I was drinking coffee in the morning and looking at my car, i said, WTF, I'll do it today , it's now or never So I started taking em' off the car, sanded down, primed, applied putty, sanded again, etc, etc,..

... now, i dunno if I can finish em' right, or what would be the outcome LOL! Wish me luck!

This should be interesting... Do you do your own painting?

I used to help my friend (a car painter) when I'm steel a teen to do his painting jobs, Im more like an apprentice but that was like 12 yrs ago. This is the first time I'll paint my own car with no help at all

I went to look for some auto paint shops, but they were all have the same price for a bumper paint job... $350-400 each, plus couple more hundreds for the lip and grill. So now, Im taking the risks to do it my own, I'll probably save at least a $1000. --if I don't messed up that is And if I do f***d it up, I'll definitely wasted some serious money

How do you plan on getting matched paint? Obviously using the car colour code you can find a close match, but I always find it's a bit off due to the car's paint job fading over time.

^^^LOL, Thanks!

It's LP (silver), so Im guessing it will match the old paint ok since its a light color, and the car is only like 1 1/2 yr old. So fading issues should not be a big difference, I hope!

I applied the color paint today, hoping to apply the top/clear coat afterwards, and guess what... freagin missed sanded spots just popped out from nowhere, BIGTIME I'm tired of sanding But I have no choice but to sand those grainy spots again, I thought I did every single spot and corners, but i guess not
