Stupid Tinter... (Burned Driver Door)

i had my G re-tinted today and the tinter (a good family friend) burned the driver door with the glue stuff...





Now my question is do i have to replace the entire door cover or can i just replace that peice thats burned?

that looks like its from the heat gun sitting in that spot too long.

damn that sucks, i have a 6 inch melted spot on my driver door panel from the dealers tinting job

they promised to replace it though.
i would honestly try to find a used door panel in that color but it's hard to see how deep it is in the pic. depending on how picky you are i am sure there are ways to semi-fix it

Same thing happen to me, and i only had the car for a month and 500 in the odometer!!! i was pretty ticked but they replaced my panel. so its all good i guess

I don't believe they sell those small upholstery pieces. Even if they did, it looks like he melted into the door plastic so that will need to be replaced.

Bottom line, he messed up big time and it will cost him more for that piece than you paid him to do the tint.

This amazes me. A tinter should know not to use a heat gun on the inside of the car. This is something that should be common sense too.

You can recover just that section. The new vynil will be a little different though. They use a real thin cheap vynil from the factory.

Or get a gray marker and touch it up... sorry to be a smart @ss, but I would try something like that first (for the time being), cuz that's alot of money, to me at least.
