Musky smell in Cabin 05 Coupe...

Recent purchase 05coupe and and had musky smell coming out of the outside air vents with both ac & vent air. Smells like wet dog...I changed the cabin filter and it was better for a a couple of days with a faint smell.

I notice that the smell is much worse when it rains as soon as I get into the car. Has anyone had this problem and fixed?

Thanks

If you replaced your filter and it still comes back then the problem is probably between the filter and your vents. Although I'm not sure exactly how you'd go about diagnosing that or fixing it other than taking it all apart and looking for something causing the smell.
It could also be more serious problem before the air reaches your filter in which case you'd have to disassemble a lot more to figure it out.

Is there a filter outside the cabin below the windsheild wipers?

dose it only smell with ac on? if it dose might be a small ac leak.... u can go to a local ac recharge place and have it pressure checked

or check carfax....car might have flood damage and still be clean title...just a heads up

I just bought my 2003 2 door coupe and it had a smell to it as well. I had the interior detailed since it is light tan. They also cleaned the a/c vents which took 2 hours alone to get rid of the musty smell. Total detail time was 5hours! I had this done on my other car(accord) last year. It seems to work and it gets rid of that smell. Hope this helps. A good cleaning of the interior and a/c vents should do the trick.

i remember on the accord forums a while back some dude had the same problem and he put some bleach in a container, sat it in the middle of the car with ac blasting on recirc for about 15 minutes and that did the trick! dont sit in the car during this process!
