My bcm went out when i was messing around with installing a car alarm. Anyways i bought another bcm at a junk yard that was supposed to work for my car but it wont start. The power door locks and windows and radio and everything works just no start.

My old bcm was 284b1 am800
this one is a 284b1 am600


did i buy the wrong one or does the new one i have need to be programmed at the dealer? Please help if you have any idea

 

try unpluging the battery for at least an hour to reset the bcm.

 

it has to get programmed by the dealer along with all your keys. ~$100
