Re: Anybody remove the spare tire yet?

Ya, the package means you get A/S instead of summer tires, but I plan on getting new wheels and tires anyways, so it's not too big of a deal until I can make the change. It would be interesting to know the weight difference. Unfortunately, I don't have a scale to weigh mine. Probably not a huge change.

Re: Anybody remove the spare tire yet?

I have a sedan\sport\winter\aero wing\aero skirts\premium or luxury...cannot remember\no nav

basically everything but the nav...sticker was 37.5k

I have a full size spare!

I think all 2003 came with FSS and the 2003.5 they cut it.

Yeah, I think they cut it because they couldn't produce enough of the 5-spoke wheels for the sport package cars to have full-size spares.

I wonder if they will start putting in FSS again once production picks up??

Re: Anybody remove the spare tire yet?

The coupe does not have a full size spare because the front wheels are a different size that the rear, 245's vs 225's. Which size wheel would you put in the trunk? It needs to be a one size fits all, and for temporary use only.

Re: Anybody remove the spare tire yet?

At least it's not a Mini Cooper S. That thing is so small, to make the supercharger fit, they had to move the battery out of the engine bay. Only place available was the spare tire well. So out goes the spare, all you get are run-flat tires and a can of fix-a-flat.

You can also remove weight from the car by eating fewer donuts.

In that case, stop exercising and start eating donuts. Muscle mass weighs more than fat!
