ANTI-bumper scraping!!?!!?

So I think I speak for EVERYONE when I say that I'm tired of scraping the fvck out of my body kit. I paid good money to paint it and even more to get it. So this morning at work (don’t judge me), I googled until my fingers were bleeding. Go figure my efforts came to no avail. Soooooo here I am…

I have this idea in my head that involves inconspicuously mounting a skid plate to the bottom of a bumper. Has anyone ever heard of anything like it? Because I dont know about you guys, but it would just be super-fvcking-duper if I could avoid the intolerable pain of chin surfing my way out another parking lot.

do you realize that every body kit is different shape and generic skid plate won't work on all of them? I'm sure any metal fabrication shop can make them, but depending on curvature, material used as well as the thickness of the material, it could cost way more than a bumper,I used to drill a hole and install a bolt with large dome shaped head on the area that is prone to scraping

Yeah..... Im aware. I was just wondering if anyone had custom built one for theirs in the past with some good results.

Good idea with the rounded bolt, that might be something I'll have to try. I also read of something similar in a corvette forum where they mounted small rollers on the bottom of the intercooler mount. I'm not sure off the top of my head where (if any) there would be a good spot under the coupe to do something similar, but Im gonna go take a look here in a bit.
