Cost to paint G35

Hello,

I have a gray G35. I was wondering how much (ballpark) It would cost to have the car repainted black.

Depends who you go to. A good paint job with door jams and all would run between 3-4k

It isnt worth it. It would be better to get a quote from a body shop and not an online forum.

You can get it as cheap as 1k or expenesive as 5k. You get what you pay for.

It would probably be cheaper to sell the gray G and buy a black one. Unless you have a ton of custom work done to your G now.

the paint and body work industry is the biggest ripoff in the history of human civilization, except for the college textbook industry.

why? their labor rate is half of what a mechanic gets. Work in the industry and you will change your mind real quick.

Thats about right. You basically have to take the whole car apart, cut out glass, fix minor stuff. Autobody meterials are expensive as a ****. A box of 3m paper can run 80 bucks. Good clear can be $400 plus for 3 liters.

Because they operate in the insurance claim world where mechanics generally don't.

except that the taking the car apart doesn't get done. They estimate for it, they charge for it, and then spray with the parts still on the car.

There is a lot more work than you think that goes into a paint job. Most give a high price because they dont want to do it. There is no money in full paint jobs.
