I just wanted to let you know guys. so i took my car to the dealer for the first time since i bought it used and the guy there told me the head lights had a recall because they could pop out. dont ask me how, thats what he said. So I got new head lights under warranty. my old ones were srached out, im just happy to have gotten my head lights replaced under waranty.

So i dont know how you guys can check for recalls for your cars. but if you have this one, just wait till your headlights look like mines, and then take it to the dealer.

 

i don't know about popping out, but the 06 headlight recall is a well known issue.

 

Very old news. It has to do more with blinding incoming traffic (iirc).

My original 06 headlights were perfectly fine. When they were replaced by the dealer (without my consent), and they did the complete opposite; I was blinding people after my headlights were placed.

I had to adjust the aim myself.

 

^+1 also when i came in to do my recall the dealership wouldnt do it for me because i had an aftermarket front lip. somehow that got in the way of them swapping the headlights they wanted to charge me 120 to remove the lip and another 120 to reinstall it o_O

 

I brought mine last week for TSP reset and they said that my headlight needed to be replaced. I said NO since my headlights have been laminated with a 3M.
