HELP!!!! Paint Issue - Urgent
I am in the middle of painting a bodykit, but it is really hard to figure out how many coats of base and then how many coats of clear on top of that to match the factory. I must have looked at the car with the body shop for an hour trying to look at samples.....anyway
Any IP owners that had their kits put on, please let me know if you had the same problem or what your body shop did to decifer the paint. Thanks!
Need to know by 8:30am tomorrow!!!!!!
I've Got A New Suprise for August.

It really just depends on the color. You will almost NEVER match the factory color. Thats why shop blend in panels.
When you shoot base you want to apply enough to cover and thats it. I can usally do this in two to three coats. But it just depends on your primer/sealer color and how close it is to your base color. Once you get even coverage your will want to apply two to three coats of clear. Make sure you let the clear flash the right time or you will get solvant pop or it might lift.
