Just an update, my dyed mats are holding up amazing.
They still look new after a good vacuuming.

i bought the black dye but my mats turned out blue did that happen to anyone else???

steve85 03-04-2011 02:44 PM

if they turned out blue the dye probably didn't take all the way.
Wash them really well to get any oil off them then stick them in the dye again, let them soak a bit longer next time.

Did you ever treat them with a stain repelling spray?
I've done a couple sets and never had that problem.

Ok so my mats are almost done not ready to go back in the car though. Mine came exactly like the ones above I used a bottle and a 1/2 of Rit which I bought at walmart for $1.66 took an hour and a half they look OEM and couldn't be happier ps i did not use salt just really hot water let them sit for an hour then dry for 10 minutes next i used the wash soap then let the water run clear apparently i didnt do it good because when i touch them my hands turn a tiny bit black so ill let them dry until tomorrow if i have the same issue ill throw them in the wash without soap and dry them again but for 5dollars total for all supplies they look amazing
