HELP! Instrument Panel Malfunction...
So I noticed it driving home today, that my guages are both at 0. Both of my tachometer, and speedometer are stuck in my 2003 g35 Sedan 6mt.
My temperature guage and gas both work (i think) unless they are just stuck at the same position when everything else quit?
I am unaware as of how long its been like that, but I do know the battery has been dying at a faster rate the past week, and when i turn the ignition, it takes a few extra cranks to turnover than it used to.
1 cause of the problem could be Mikes Car Wash.
-reason being: I didnt notice the malfunctioning until the slip light also got stuck on, ever since my wet tires slipped a little bit as im pulling out of mikes car wash. Now not too sure, but the high powered air driers are pretty powerful, and could have wiggled a wire or triggered a wire loose.
The slip light has stayed on a few other times, but eventually went out after a couple starts.
**Please if anyone knows any input it would be HIGHLY appreciated. If not anyone know how much a dealership would charge to rundown an issue like this? Please help! highly irritated.

so today, i go to start it up, and the battery is dead...so it was bad, I just bought a new battery now the Service Engine Light is on.
After i put a lil bit of gas in it, the speedometer kinda works now, but floats funny, and drops slow.
Its all f'ed up and im not sure whats going on with it...
any other help appreciated...its had time to dry out now, but now the check engine came on after I replaced my battery. Is this common?

sounds like you may need to trace your wire harnesses. I have a friend that has an electrical issue, and every dealer claims that somewhere a rat or mouse, or a Gremlin for all we know, chewed on a wire. And thats not too hard to imagine either.
So you may have a rodent problem, you may have ran something over and it snagged a wire, etc.
Maybe try going to the dealer to diagnose it. When they come back with an answer, you have the option to pay them to fix the issue or leave with the information they gave you and go somewhere cheaper. Either way its a free diagnostics

I am looking for answers also. My wifes 04 X had a complete cluster malfunction yesterday. None of the gauges were working and the AWD, AT and tire monitor lights were on. Of course when I got home and started the car everything was working fine. I hooked up my scanner and there were no codes.
Any ideas what can cause this?
