Matte Black Roof? Yes or No?

I have a 04 in red and I have been debating whether or not to have the roof painted in a matte black finish. i have seen it done before on different colors and was wondering if anyone had done it to theirs. hit me back with any feedback. thanks.

imo flat or matte will look unfinished. I would stay with at least satin if not gloss to match the clearcoat paint with the rest of the car.

If you have a sunroof, no. If not, sure. But you better have aggressive wheels/drop & a kit to pull it off.

A definite yes!

I have a white G35 with tinted windows and I plan on doing that to my roof, but with a gloss like finish to match the windows.

Once painted, the car will have a 2 tone like effect.

Once the top of the roof is blended in with the sunroof and the other tinted windows, it's going to look nice and unique.

i am actually in the procee of getting estimates. I'll keep you posted

Here are a couple of coupes that may give you an idea what it may look like....I know they aren't red and one is a G37.......but the second one looks like it may have a matte finish. Hope this helps!

BTW, I think you should go with the glossy finish....Love the look of this G37. It looks like one big piece of glass.

I'm debating the same thing myself. I can do the paintjob myself so COST is not a big factor, labor is though. To get a matte/satin black roof all I have to do is go to my local sign making place and have them cover the roof with vinyl and be done with it. To paint it though is a whole other ordeal especially since I have a sun roof and I would have to paint the part where the sun roof seal touches the roof which could be a PITA.

matte looks dumb on glossy cars, unless it has other matte accents or has some sort of standout factor.
