Engine cover gap fix
Engine cover gap fix
Ever since I installed my z-tube I always hated that stupid gap that was on the engine cover.
So this is what I did to fix it.
This is the gap that I am talking about

I got this scrap piece of metal from work and cut and bent it in to shape. I bent tabs on the back side so it could press on to the cover, then JB WELD over them. (i could have used a piece of plain sheet metal but I thought that this might look kinda cool).

Then I sanded the back side of the cover where I would apply the JB WELD and painted the piece I am installing satin black.

I wasn't sure how well the JB would hold but its solid as a rock.

Final install pics. I am extremely happy on how it turned out.

That looks good! Great idea
Have you considered masking off the middle of the engine cover and painting the whole cover the same color as the one piece? Might look a little more uniform with it all being the same color
