xhid, you're correct. I thought you were speaking of the drop from 12v to 1.6v (or whatever the leds run at.) I haven't seen 14.4 in a car but if it's running okay for you then the normal 13.6 - 13.8 should be fine. These leds aren't on all the time either. Not sure how much that Sharp regulator is but it definitely wouldn't hurt.

As for the vids, please don't wait as I don't have any. I actually don't have the coupe any longer (sedan instead) and made this DIY right before I sold it. Feel free to ask questions that the post did not answer and I will do my best to get back to you.

I just ran them at 14.4 to really push them to see if they could handle extreme voltage. Yes I also realized they don't run much so I did not add voltage reg. Did use stainless steel cotter pin in place of the nail. Really like the security feature. Great idea!
