hid fogs?
You do not need projectors, but they are highly recommended. The reflectors for the fogs are not meant for HIDs. Installing a universal HID kit will cause glare to oncoming traffic. A projector retrofit is the proper, safe, and courteous way to add HIDs to your fogs.
I have hid fogs on my 04 coupe with 06 projectors. The housing on fogs aren't projectors. But having projectors on fogs would be nice. I have 3000k yellow installed. Driving on freeway, I to see all the signs glow yellow. But when car is parked in garage, the yellow beam sits right under the low beam almost like a cut off. Friend that drove in front of me (another G35) said it wasn't glaring on his rear-view mirror.
If your G is non-projector, then they fogs should be an H4 bulb. There are many styles of H4 hid.
As for the projectors, the fogs is H1.
Reason is H4 is a dual beam bulb and G35 headlight used the low beam as fogs. But the projectors come in bi-xenon so therefore fog is just a single filament bulb.
I have been in the hid business for the past 4 years and G35 was my first to see H4 as a fog bulb.
Read the sylvania book at your local part store, its funny.
Well you can PM me if you need any more help

There's also another option, for the G coupes, we can import the JDM lower fog lamp kit, which houses the projectors down in the grilles of the bumper. The JDM kit is a NISSAN JAPAN option, and they are xenon/HID out of the box. They're a bit pricey, but very unique, only seen them on two cars, and we sold both kits lol...
If you buy a pricey hid kit you shouldn't have a problem with glare.

as long as you do the correct research and purchase a kit that is correct for your car, you'll have no problems with glare.
don't just rush into a kit thinking, it says it will fit so it must be ok. Just because it fits doesn't mean it will provide you with the best performance visually etc...
also, in many cases HID FOGS actually are not as bright as a bright halogen, but it all depends on the lense, housing etc...
