Coupe VS Sedan Gauge Cluster

So I whacked my fuel gauge messing with changing the lighting around a little and researched and thought the sedan cluster was the same. So I swapped out the normal bulbs with LEDs, sanded down the plastic and threw it in. All seemed good until I got out of the car and realized that the dome light wasn't coming on and the headlights wouldn't shut off automatically. I got back in the car and discovered the door "open" icon wasn't working. So I swap to the crap orginal cluster and all is fine.

Anyone tried this and had the same problem. It can only be two things, the LEDs I used are causing an issue or the pin outs for the door circuit are different. Any suggestions. I could kick myself for killing the fuel gauge. Now I'm kinda screwed.
