painting bumper cost

i'm getting around $300~400 for getting 350z rear bumper painted. I was looking to spend around $150 though.
The bumper just needs some paint over large paint chips and hair line cracks.
Does the bumper HAVE to be repainted entirely?
Shouldn't it cost less to REPAINT than getting it painted from the basic?

thank you

should cost no more than $250 unless work has to be done to it like bondo and stuff and yes its cheaper and better to jus have the entire bumper repainted rather then having the shop waste their time painting a section and blending it. actually i dont even think a shop would waste their time blending it

The rear bumper has very wrinkly paints due to being exposed to sun and rain for many weeks or so. Is it really the paint that is wrinkly which can be fixed from repainting or is it the bumper itself being wrinkly?

Can't say anything about the wrinkly paint, but can comment on the blending. I just had my front bumper done, some idiot backed into it while I was parked. The area was about 1 sq foot, and the blending is perfect. My buddy recommended this place called Doctor Touch, I know they are in Missouri where I am; they do work for dealers when they bring in used vehicles or don't want their own shops footing the bill. I have IP, which is pretty hard to blend, and it looks perfect in direct sunlight and looking through polarized sunglasses. Took 2.5 hours and they charged around $200. Most body shops will not blend, they will take the bumper off, R&R, paint, and so forth. Plus, all the shops around here have a 1 week wait time + I have to leave my car for at least 2 days. These guys are mobile, came to my school and painted it in the parking garage while I was in class. Super happy with the results

3 to 400 is normal for a shop to repaint a bumper. might save $$ by taking the bumper off and dropping it off to save on some labor.

Sounds about right for a repaint and install. I wouldn't trust a $150 paint job, unless a painter friend is hooking you up or something.

I got a quote for my rear bumper and it was also around 400~450 for IP.
400 sounds about right.
