^^ completely agree... but in the end it's your car so it's your decision nonetheless... black would be best imo... i'm planning on painting my non-brembo's black myself soon...

curious though did you guys sand down your calipers? or just cleaned em up really well prior to painting.

I like the idea. Minus the color IMO. Did you paint the "Infiniti" chrome, or are those stickers?

Those are "high temp decals" from ebay. I sanded the calipers down before I painted then. Its been about 8 months since I painted them and they do need another coat. Decals are still excellent though.

Lol this thread is making me laugh.

"Don't paint stock calipers bright colors, you look like a PHONY!"

I dont care if you get a BBK or keep your OEM calipers. The color of a caliper is used as an accent. My brother has a BBK on his G that is black. So is he trying to pose as having stock brakes? No, its for accent on the car, obviously some people cannot afford 2 grand for BBK's

So if you take time, clean up your brakes and lay down nice coats with quality paint and clear coat, slap on some high heat overlays that say infiniti... **** looks clean. I wish I had a picture of my friends OEM calipers. they look 20x better than ANY BBK I would ever buy.

Buy a BBK if you are planning on tracking... not if you have a DD and want to accent.

Painting OEM's is perfectly fine if you take the time to do it right and the color accents your car.

Lol, got to love "a big fat phony!" Everyone has an opinion but if it's your car then obviously your opinion counts the most. If you like it and don't mind taking a little crap about it from other people then do it. It's your car, your time, and your money, do what you will with it. Put a 10 foot spoiler on your car for all I care as long as you like it. "You have a 10 foot spoiler and don't have 1000 horsepower? Your a big fat ricer PHONY!"

I agree with KidStealthG35. Lots of people dont paint them to replicate anything they just like them cause they pop and add an accent.

I dont need a BBK cause I dont track nor do I want to spend 2k on brakes when it will make no difference in my daily driving. But having an accent color on my brakes wouldnt mean im trying to act like I have a BBK. Sometimes just having your brakes pop behind a wheel looks good or matches another color thats on the car.

Personally mine are black currently. But I did have them blue for a while as well as my engine bay had same blue accents in it.

I forsure know when I painted my brakes blue a long time ago I didnt have the thought of, Oh I hope everyone thinks I have a BBK. lol.

When you put glitter on a turd it doesn't make it cooler; it merely brings more attention to that turd.

Personally, I gotta say that I love the look of these. Blue is one of my favorite colors. I have a black G and almost everybody I see does red accents so I don't want red. I've been looking into doing exactly this to mine. There are guys out there who do a crappy job painting the stock calipers, yes, but if you take the time to do it right, it can look pretty cool. I for one don't have 2k to spare on some brembos rignt now. Maybe some day.. I've been trying to figure out the best way to do this without screwing it up and being called a "Phoney" hahaha. How exactly did you do it and what paint did you use? Where did you get the stickers? Give me the details, I'd love to do it to my G. Got any other pics too?
