Opinions on painted brake calipers?

Me and my buddy were bored and decided to paint my brake calipers red last night. I don't have any pictures of the car with them because it's been pouring rain all day. I do have a picture of the wheel tho. Its an Ivory Pearl sedan. I still don't know if I like or not. If I decide I don't like it or it is frowned upon in the G35 World I am just going to paint them grey so they don't stand out at all.

Eh personally I don't like painted stock brakes. If anything I would paint them black but not red/blue/any other color that makes it stand out.

just a comparison of what you're perceived in trying to imitate when painting calipers...

nice, sick!

as you can see, though it's not the worst thing in the world, the painted calipers portrays a sense of fakeness, phony-ness, wanna be, etc. From far way, people would be like, oh look! and as they get closer, oh, it's stock calipers *disappointed, walks away*....just sayin lol.

If youre gonna paint your OEM calipers make it black, silver, or graphite(I used Nissan code K51), those colors clean up the dirty rusted look but dont draw unwanted attention. Every other color look obnoxious, unless its a $$$ BBK.

Red and yellow are the 2 worst colors for OEM calipers..... PERIOD!!!

Yes, silver is good. I painted mine silver with a duplicolor caliper paint (spray).

Just clean them good and mask all the holes/pads/hardware if you aren't doing disassy for paint.

I used a scotchbrite pad and brake parts cleaner.

Flip: That was the color I wanted to do my caliper with, but couldn't find it in a can locally (was doing brakes that weekend and didn't want to wait). Did you have to buy it and spray with a gun? Just wondering since my rattle can job will probably only last a year or so.

The local paint place I get stuff at actually mixed me a spray can of automotive basecoat for $15 since I didnt want to buy a quart or pint of base. I then sprayed Dupont clearcoat over it with my gun. Mine still look as clean and new as the day I sprayed them 2 years ago.

Painted stock brake calipers in high-visibility colors (i.e. red, blue, yellow, etc.) look comical. Choose a low-key color like silver, black, or gray.
