Debadging
Re: Debadging
Discussed several times before. Heat gently with a hairdryer, use floss to pull the letters off. Clean up with WD-40 or paint thinner.

Re: Debadging
I'm not so sure about paint thinner. I just used Goo-gone. If you have strong fingernails, you don't need floss. Just heat up each letter, grab two opposite corners and pull. Comes off with ease.
Re: Debadging
you don't even have to heat it up, just pull it off and scratch off any left over stuff.

Re: Debadging
Or if you live in a place like Houston, just wait for a nice and hot sunny day (it'll happen), and then pull off with your fingertips. It comes off very clean and doesn't leave anything. At least that happened with my Accord, I'll debadge my G35 if the friggin thing ever gets delivered.
Re: Debadging
I just took off the badging over the weekend, including the Infiniti Emblem. I found out afterwards there are 2 nice little holes in the trunk. I have 2 magnets that I have placed inside the emblem and will cover it with felt so that it is easy to remove when I wash the car.
My question is how do I SAFELY remove the all the left over sticky stuff from the car? I read use WD-40. Does it harm the paint? I tried a little but the sticky stuff isn't going anywhere. Will my fingernails scratch the paint if I scratch it off? Anything else to try that is SAFE?
Thanks!

Re: Debadging
I think the most efficient way to debadge is to NOT do it at all. I saw a black on black coupe w/ 19's SSRs debadged, and I really wasn't that impressed with it to be completely honest with you. Looks fine the way it is. Looked empty and something was 'missing'. Wonder what it could have been?
Just leave it alone.

Re: Debadging
you can rub the sticky stuff with your fingers, not your nails but with your skin, and it helps if the stuff is warm. this will probably hurt like hell, but thats one way to do it without hurting the paint, sacrifice yourself hehe.
Re: Debadging
Ok, I will try that. I have computer fingers so this is going to be painful. How about an eraser head from a pencil?

Re: Debadging
If you're really worried, you can test the WD-40 on an inconspicuous spot first. But I think it'll be okay.
