Fender bender :[

So yesterday on my way up to northern PA I was in a pretty minor accident, due to people driving like *******s. Ended up hitting the back of a little suv. My grille took most of the hit luckily, and it was completely pushed in and all the clips broke off.
The hood also seems to be bent a little, when I open it it scrapes against the edge of the side panels up by the windshield. It looks okay when it's closed but you can tell its a little out of whack if you look close.
The guy's muffler managed to punch a nice hole through my front bumper too, along with scuffs and places where the paint is now bubbling/peeling.

So, a new grille is obvious. But would I be best with a new front bumper/hood too? Or would it be easy for a body shop to patch the hole in the bumper and bend the hood a little into place?

Can't really give you an opinion without seeing the extent of the damage. You could have bend in the hood removed if it isn't bad, but if there's a hole in the bumper your best bet is to replace that. If you're taking out an insurance claim, I would just use the opportunity to get some nice aftermarket stuff =D

Probably just gonna replace it myself and not go through insurance. Would case my rate to go through the roof, im only 18. I didnt need to file a police report either since both cars were driveable and no one was hurt.

But either way i'd never buy the stock parts. I'll probably get an inven or kuruma z front bumper, gialla grille and get the hood fixed is possible?

Perfect excuse for aftermarket grill and bumper! lol

But yeah, I wouldnt let insurance handle it.

Either way, check out the marketplace for bumper/grill. And id get the hood fixed then

The hood may have just shifted on the hinges, get a shop to make the call on that one hard to tell without seeing it.

As for the bumper, throw it on craigslist for $100 and buy a kuruma and emblemless OEM grille.

Hopefully thats all it is with the hood. I'll take it to a shop and have them look at it

Pretty set on the Kuruma, will be ordering a polyurethane pre-painted one very soon. Still having a tough time deciding between the gialla or emblemless OEM though.

Are these the right clips that hold the grille on?

Also, to put an emblem on the Kuruma bumper, do people usually just 3M tape an OEM trunk emblem? Thats what it looks like but I wasnt sure.

Something is up with the hood alignment. Check hinges for bends, then check the body itself. That is the most concerning thing I see.

If it were me... new hood (most likely new hinges), grille. Try to repair current bumper and call it a day. Sorry that happened. I tail people alot and it's happened to me once. I back off but start closing in after a few years.

hood is deff fixable, i had tons more damage to my hood when a guy backed in to me at the light, and i was told by a body shop that they can fix the hood. There is no point in trying to fix the bumper, it will cost you more than replacement

you looking at roughly $1500 worth of damage right thur

Yeah thats what I figured. For a shop to patch the hole and repaint the whole thing it wouldn't be close to worth it. I was looking for an excuse for a new bumper anyway, so i'm not too upset :P

Price sounds about right too, but guess we'll find out for sure soon enough.

Ouch =((

The hood would not be repairable if it was bent.

Just took another look and i'm pretty sure its just the hinges. The hood opens about halfway and then scrapes on the side panels by the windshield so it's hard for me to tell, but the actual hood itself doesn't appear to be bent.

Got an appointment to get it looked at on thursday, so cross yo fingas

Just took the car to an Infiniti dealership to check out the hood.

They said there doesnt appear to be any damage to the hood, and new hinges/hood alignment should do the trick. Its about $250 to get the hood fixed, estimated.

Is it not smart to get the front bumper put on and painted at the dealership? Or should I get it done at a local place to try and save money?

I wouldn't bother with the dealership.
They'll just overcharge you for any work done.
Find a reputable bodyshop and see how much they'll charge.
