Definately read this before you decide whther you want to switch to 6000K HIDs http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html. I found it very insightful and I personally will stick with stock. I'm not saying that 6000K is bad or anything I mean they look very nice and definately compliment the car but I personally am going to stick with stock. And just curious but doesnt putting HID in for the fogs eliminate the high beam function?

good info, 300zx2g35! i definetly felt that the 8k set looked cool but illuminated less than the 6k. i was considering putting 8k on my car but i chose 6k for this very reason. as for eye fatigue, i havent noticed any yet. i drove for 2 hours down to san diego and was fine. still, great info that might concern some people.

All I can say is wow! I just spoke with Alan about pricing and how the whole setup works. I literally was expecting a $1200 quote for what this setup accomplishes. Keep in mind, if you wanted to just replace your OEM lowbeam HIDs with a 6000k bulb, you are looking at roughly $300... for the bulbs alone!
The foglight HID kit he is offering includes the price of the bulbs. For $330 you are getting a foglight HID kit, that still retains the high beam function. On top of that, you can get matching 6000 or 8000k low beam HIDs for $230. I've been researching upgrading to Ultinons, then having to worry about matching the halogen H4s. Well worth spending the extra money to go HID, IMO.

well, the kit comes with directions. it is not very difficult at all.
install requires you to drill a small hole in the cap behind the housing (for the wires to go through;it has rubber around it to make it airtight) and you also need to tap into 3 wires that power the normal fog, the highbeam and the ground. i guess if you wanted to revert back to stock, you can fill up the hole with silicon and use a hardwire kit when you install it (that will allow you to tap into the 3 wires so you dont have to cut/solder anything).
the kit comes with a unit that simplifies the process even more. it allows you to use the stock socket to power the HID bulb. i have not tried it myself, but i will later this month. i will also take install pics then, but i can tell you right now that the kit is easy to install.
