How do I take out my 03.5 sedans trunk infiniti emblem? I tried earlier today and it wouldn't budge. If I take it out will it out and put it back after repainting it will it become lose?

 

If you are wanting to take the center emblem off it is held on by double sided tape and there are two centering holes in the trunk.

I use dental floss to cut the tape and get the emblems off clean without damaging the paint then clean off the tape residue.

My suggestion would be to buy a new emblem and paint it that way you will not have to hassle with trying to re stick it on the car.

When you put them back on, just use some 3M double sided tape and it will hold. Just make sure you clean off the old tape.

 

correct on centering holes. you'll have two holes in your trunk if you remove the emblem, and will have to weld them shut and repaint the trunk. IMHO it isn't worth it, unless you also mold a spoiler into your trunk, like a few others have done.

 

Totally agree. I wanted the completely debadged look and it wasn't much more to add a molded spoiler when repainting the entire trunk. It was also cheaper than buying an M3 style spoiler having it painted and sticking it on the trunk with double side tape.

 

I want to take it out because I want to paint the emblem black chrome. My trunk is de-badged.
