spoiler(2 sided taped) with subs. will it stay on?
okay so this is a mixed question but i figure its more of an exterior/body question than audio.
right now I have the veilside carbon wing but it bolts on and I also had it custom resin injected so its very firm and doesnt rattle.
its installed with 3 stainless bolts and heavy duty 3m all around.
I'm debating on changing it, but all the other aftermarket spoilers are not bolted on, just use 2 sided tape. (im looking at data r as top preference atm)
my setup right now is 2 sundown sa-12's in custom fiberglass boxes running at 1500watts
im worried that if i go this route with just the tape the spoiler could pop off due to the trunk flex. it flexes quite a bit if i take off the veilside wing(sides of trunk lift up to vent the moving air). Think it can hold up?
if not ill just leave it as is since its secure and itll save me money. The veilside isnt my favorite but i can deal with it if its my only secure option. i dont want to go with oem because i dont like the oem spoilers and dont want to drill more holes.
any experience with this situation would be helpful. thanks.

if it is a lip spoiler it can survive, if it is oem or especially if it is larger the wind is going to take it right off. but if it is a ricer style spoiler it is better that wind takes it off anyway.

All spoilers on the trunk we recommend epoxying or bolting down. The downforce the spoiler generates will not be held down by double sided tape alone.
Only roof spoilers are held down by double sided tape simply because you cant bolt it to the rear glass and you do not want to glue it. We tell our customers to watch the condition of the tape and to replace/retape it at least once every year.
Veilside wing is gonna fly off with tape only. 100%
