hid replacement bulbs??

I have an '04 coupe. I've read some of the posts about people who changed their oem hid to aftermarket hid bulbs. What do I need to look for when I'm searching for hid bulbs? ie, regular bulbs are 9003 9004 9005 etc. What are our bulbs called? And, what is a good aftermarket bulb to get?
It's hard to explain what I want. The best way I can think is that when you first turn your headlights on they are pretty blue/purple and once they heat up they go more white. I want that tint to my lights all the time. Any feedback is apreciated.

The replacement bulbs are D2R HID bulbs. Alot of people have changed their bulbs to Phillips Ultinon 6000K bulbs. These will give you a more blue/purple look, but they won't be as bright as the stock ones. If you go to 8000K bulbs, these will look even more purplish, but light output diminishes. I think that PIAA are supposed to come out with a replacement D2R bulb, but not sure if these are out yet. If you want to replace your driving/fog lights, these are H4.

Yep, D2R is what you'll need, here are my 6k hid's versus stock....oh and BTW, i got these from HIDKING.com, they are generic bulbs not Phillips, the only difference i can see from the stockers from these is that the 6k bulbs do not have the D2R ceramic band on the bulb, so glare is evident.

You can buy these online from suvlights, xenon factory and others. Expect to pay around 130ish per bulb. I bought mine from Xenon Factory, excellent service and would buy from them again.

I had a feeling someone would point out the glare, its actually not that bad, i had someone to drive the G while i was in front and the glare is very minimal, stock bulbs seem to glare a tad bit too

Overall I really like the color, its a purplish white, and i've got many compliments on them.
