Following up on the above question, if you replace your factory D2S bulbs with an aftermarket HID bulb, meant to fit the regular halogen socket, it should work. Somebody confirm this for me?

Can anyone comment on the above questions for us that want to use Halogen assembly in a xenon car. Is buying the correct factory halogen to hid kit is all that's needed. Is the wiring all the same. I don't want to buy $1000 a pair xenon replacement assembly

Ballasts or bulbs are usually the only problem. Look on eBay for replacement ballasts and TheRetrofitSource.com for bulbs.

The wiring lined up for a factory xenon. I don't see why it wouldn't on a halogen car.

but apparently i can only find them in halogen. Does anybody have any suggestions for me? Can i find a similar set that are HID? Is there a way to make my HID bulbs fit in this housing? or does anyone know for a nice set of HID's for an '04 x which i can add halos too?
i know this is an old post. But I was wondering if you were able to get the job done and either change from HID to halogen. Or if you were able to figure out a way to make the hid work with the headlight ?

I just bought a 2004. Planning on using the same headlights and doing the same thing. We’re you able to get the project done ?

The FSM is showing that it's the same harness and the only differences were the wiring on the inside of the housing. So yes it should work.

Personally though I would just JB Weld the tab back on rather than downgrade to halogens.

Thats great news! I wasn't sure if the ebay halogen harness will plug and work with the xenon plug. All the sellers mentioned in the ad that it will not work with xenon car.

I'm trying the JB Weld right now. I'm looking for a backup plan.
