hey guys, i just bought a front lip from strafe which doesnt come with hardware to install and i wanna be as prepared as possible to install myself. What are you guys buying at the hardware store to make it work, i assume thats what most do? or is there a hardware kit i can buy? it is an oem front lip. thanks.

i found a few threads searching that show a little bit of installs but no real parts list

 

Did it at least come with instructions? If not, your best bet is to push it up against the bumper to look for any solid contacting points between the lip and bumper. Then mark those areas and drill through them. Then just screw it on with a nut/bolt or some other fastener. Could also use some double sided 3m tape to fight any gap, but don't attach with tape only.

If you go this route, you can use any size bolts/nuts you want, as long as you have a drill to make the correct size for it.

If there were any instructions, just follow those. It should at least point out locations to mount screws/bolts from.

 

i dont beleive it will have any instructions..it isnt here yet. I will most likely just have a buddy help out and get it lined up like i want..prolly will put 3m on the backside and line it up then drill thru where i need to on the bottom while its being held in place..im sure itll work out..ill just get some screws and nuts and bolts

oem poly from strafe...keepin it clean until i can get a nismo front and sides at some point.

 

Does it have studs on the lip like the oem or is it all double sided tape?? U have any pics??

 

not sure what studs u mean, it used double sided tape and gets bolts or screws or whatever is uded on the bottom, it is not pre-drilled..only pics are whats in the thread listed here, nothing of it off the car...they make it in fiberglass and poly, i opted for poly..Same as jp vizage..

ur nuts. if u knew u was gonna go with nismo later shoulda jus saved for that instead of doing it twice. thats jus a waste of money plus u gotta paint it. anyway if it doesnt install like oem jus install like any other lip. tape and 2 self tapping screws on each end with mount/screw clips (not necessary but makes for a tighter screw install).

 

its not set in stone ill ever get the nismo which is why i got the front lip. If i get the nismo front and sides it isnt in the near near future.

I just bought a house and baby on the way..Getting a few things for now and then down the road if i can get it i can get it

and painting isnt an issue..i do it..gonna cost me 100 bucks to paint the front lip, down the road ill sell it if i change it up

 

The OEM one has studs along the inside so u can bolt it to the bumper.. Does the strafe one have that or no??

 

not even sure, ill have to ask them..far as i know its exactly the same as the oem one.

na..i just ordered it the other day and they are made to order..1-2 business weeks..will post pics up when it gets here..i emailed them and asked about the studs so maybe ill have a better answer back on that soon..would be nice if it has that

 

Yeah cause I'm in the same boat.. Dunno if I wanna get a nismo or OEM lip.. But I want it to bolt to the bumper like OEM and not double sided tape.. I'm very picky!! Lol

 

im surprised the strafe dude chimed in. hes usually on it with anything related to strafe
