Buying new headlight for retrofit question

I'm looking to do a dual projector headlight setup with some LED's and what not. I was going to buy new headlight assembly's to start with because my driver sides is super fogged out and even despite multiple restores it returns to a gross yellow. So my question is there a down side to buying something like the aftermarket eagle eyes or spyder projectors headlights and modifying to my liking from there, or is there something I'm missing that would make getting OEM headlights better/easier? The JDM solution would be cheaper and I'd only have to retrofit one extra projector but I'm worried that they might be harder to get into or have less mounting options, the LED's might be harder to change... something like that. Just looking for opinions here. Thanks!
