Holes in front bumper from license plate holder :(

I purchased an 04 G35 Coupe 6MT a week ago. I was happy with everything about the car, until I noticed that the dealership used screws for the front license plate holder.

Do the coupes that do not have a front license plate holder have pre-drilled holes in the bumper for one, or does the dealership have to drill the holes themselves?

I would prefer to use the license plate adapter that strictlyz.com has, where it uses the tow hook in order to mount the holder, therefore no holes.

And whether or not the bumper comes with pre-drilled holes or the dealership has to drill the holes themselves, what is the best way to fill in the holes giving a seemless look without having to buy a new bumper? I will register this car in a different state where they do not have a front license plate.

Thanks for any info!

yea i had the smae problem it comes with no holes...the dealership does em cuz i was talkin to my dealer and he was like the reason i have holes is cuz i live in Nj and NJ has a stupid law where u need license plate in the front and back and the dealer thinks it "makes life easier" if they drill the holes for u and put a license plate holder there for u.......those d*ckheads

I had holes in my front bumper. What I did was go to Home Depot and get some flat black automotive fasteners and inserted them into the holes...it actually looks better now! Pics available

That looks like a good workaround. Although I wish I didnt have the holes to begin with...ah well.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely use your idea.

Yeah... I'm in Irvine, CA. and I would love to find a solution fill those holes with a paint matched plug. Anyone have any solutions?

However, $33 is way too much from bumperplugs.com. But since I have a color (Lakeshore Slate) that they don't carry... they have to make them and are asking for approximately $100 for 3 pairs.

yeah, i bought my coupe in New Jersey (i live in NY) with all intent of getting the strictly z front plate bracket, but they had already drilled my holes......made me a lil bit sad. I hate living in a state that req. front plates.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to remedy the bumper holes without the need to replace the whole front bumper?

Go to Lowe's and go to hardware, look for the little black fasteners in the hardware, grab the 1 inch Nissan automotive fasteners.
