one of the hid's is out

hi guys i need some help asap as the car is my mothers daily driver. its an 04 g35 coupe that has had the healights converted by the previous owner to 06 lights. just last night one of the lights no longer turns on so the one thing i have done so far is swapped the bulbs from left to right and right to left. well now the light that wasnt turning on comes on, and the one that was working now doesnt since i have switched side. my question is what would be the most likely cause of this problem. ive gone back over and made sure al the connections where tight and plugged correctly. any help is apreciated.

i wish it was that easy.. the bulb that appeared to be out, when i switched it to the other side now lights up so its not the bulb.

ohh i thought you were saying that once you switched it, the other side went out... so you are saying that even after switching, the headlight that was not turning on is still not working correct? are the fogs working on the side that is out? driving lights? figure out if its the ballast or maybe the actual igniter.

Take a look at the igniter see if there is any type of gunk buildup where it connects to the bulb, I had a little bit happen with mine.

i dont know of any way to do that without physically taking them out and actually swapping the igniters with the ballasts to determine, maybe someone with more headlight experience could comment.
