05 G35 sedan chrome window trim alternatives?
I have a 2005 g35x. I've been looking to make the chrome around my windows black. I was considering having the chrome painted black. But does anyone know if there is an 05 altima part that could simply replace it easier. I have the 05 altima rainguards covering the majority of the top piece of chrome so would the entire window trim fit perhaps? Anyone tried this?

Thats what sandpaper, primer and clearcoat is for. Ive had mine for over a year with no issues. It's no different than painting a grille and grilles are alot more prone to chips. Only way it wont stick is with a cheap painter that just sprays it with no prep work done

I previously has an 03 sedan that i found a special "shadow line" tape for. It was gloss black and i loved it! and it lasted over 3 years.
Just recently purchased an 06 sedan. Last night i Plasti-dipped the grill and badges flat black. Looks awesome!
Tonight after work i decided to plasti-dip the window trim and door handles. What a pain in the a$$. Cutting and peeling the fine lines is very difficult. I actually had to remove the entire passenger side because i messed up and chrome was showing.
It was so much easier to use the tape. But i think the flat black looks really good. Way better than the gloss.
So for now ill drive around with half black trim til i decide weather or not i want to try again.
can the door trim be removed, painted, and replaced? Because im am masking the crap outta the car and its very difficult to keep it from over spray.
Does anybody know if the trim can be removed? if so is there a DIY anywhere that somebody can share?
