Opinion On Body Repairs
Hey fellas. I left my baby parked in an underground parking near a subway station and returned to find a paint-less ding on the passenger side rear-fender. Before I pay to get the work done I would like to know whether or not attempting a DIY fix is worthwhile. Secondly, I want to know what I should expect to pay and for what.

I took it to two separate body shops and they both gave me the same quote of $600.00 C.A.D - they tell me that the rear bumper (or fender? :P) must be removed to massage the kinks, and then a clear-coat must be applied to that whole side of the car. One of the two mentioned using some putty.
So what do you all think? Does the price sound reasonable? (I live in Southern Ontario, in the Greater Toronto Area, if that makes a difference) Does the work sound legit?
Finally, will my paint job likely be mismatched? A friend of mine said that it's never quite the same afterwards.
Thanks in advance for the advice! =]

Hmm... That seems a bit more complex than a simple dent you could remove yourself. One thing I would say is that your friend is pretty spot on when it comes to the painting. It takes a very skilled painter to be able to match paint well, and even then it may be visibly different in certain lighting conditions/angles.
