Get new bolts, have a drill and some pliers ready when removing the old trunk. You may got lucky and only strip one or two, if that happens drill through the center of them and use a set of pliers to twist and break the head off the bolt. Worry about removing them from the OEM trunk later on if you care.

Not hard to do otherwise. It's 4 bolts to the hinges, two (I think?) for the latch mechanism, and figuring where/how to run the spool of wires through the trunk. It's a little awkward without an extra set of hands but doable. Once it's on the hinges (and before you do the latch mechanism) open and close it to see how it fits and make adjustments on the hinges as needed. There's really not a lot to it.

Edit: The latch mechanism has a small metal tab that lines it up with the OEM trunk. Chances are your new trunk may not have the slot for that tab so just bend that little piece of metal flat with the rest of the bracket.

Use some shop rags/terry towels on the corners of the lid that go against the body. Just set them folded up in the two corner spots and then set the lid corners on them. It will help protect the new trunk corner edges, and the cars paint as well. This will also allow you to work with one side moving it around so you can get a bolt started, and then move to the other side without worries of chipping the lid corners or scratching of the body. I did this when I put on a CF hood by myself on a car I had a few years back; should work the same for the trunk lid. Hope this helps you out.

You may be able to use one. Definately not 2 as far as I've seen or done. I haven't found a low enough pressure set. I use one and it's fine. A lot of people don't use them at all.

Make sure you let us know how your R1 trunklid fits once you install it and include pic, please! That would help us decide who we're buying our next body mod parts from....Gary
