installing impul side skirt
#16
Step aside boiz and girls. Let the pros handle zis.
Here is what you do.
1. Attach both front and rear of the impull side by the front and rear wheels. (couple of screws in the OEM holes). Make sure you first line everything up with the quarter panel and front fender. You can use painters tape to tape the skirt to the QT panel to hold it while you attaching it.
2. Once you are attached on both ends you can start attaching the door part.
Your OEM clips will not work. Throw them out, bury them in your backyard, let the nature take it course and turn them into OIL. Call me when that happens I'd want some commissions!

You don't need the bolt, you just need the plastic clip from this. Trow the bolt out.
3. Go to your local hardware store and pick up some nice stainless steel bolts that are same size as those that came with them plastic clips. Make sure they have a large head.
Something like this
or like this
4. Install the plastic clips in the OEM holes, drill the correct size hole in the skirt that corresponds with the plastic clip hole and install the bolts.
5. In some cases you will need to put bunch of washers between the skirt and the car to make sure it stays straight, so make sure that the bolts you get are long enough to handle few washers. Get at least an inch and a half long bolts and few washers that you can stack between the skirt and the car to level it out as needed.
6. There are no attachment points on the skirt (as I know of) on the quarter panel side, so you just get it as tight as you can to the QT panel with bolt in the door, in the wheel well and under the car. If the QT panel part sticks out too much, adjust your under the car mount points by pushing it further under the car or pulling it out more.
7. Under the car use OEM attachment spots and screws. Just drill the holes in the skirt in the corresponding spots.

your shop sux, they don't know how to prep poly.
Poly is very pores material, has lot's of holes, needs to be prepped for paint properly. Fitment will depend on the manufacturer. None of them are 100% fitment. All aftermarket body panes are like Russia and USA relationship. They requite allot of sand paper and bondo diplomacy to make it work.
