HID Problems

I recently upgraded my HID bulbs from 4100K to the 6000K. I have a after market kit. Since I swapped the bulbs one of the 6000K bulbs isnt working properly, It seems to only come one when it wants to. Now a wrench in the plans is this. While trying to replace my parking bulbs I lost one, SO that same side is also missing a parking bulb, Would that have anything to do with the bulb working sporatically? I would think not because they should be on a different circuit. You guys know how hard it is to change bulbs on out car so I am trying to do and much find and seek before I have to lift the car again. Also one bulb is a slightly different color than the other. Could I just have gotten a bad buls, or is there another problem. Thanks.

What type of bulbs are they? Are the OEM (Philips, Osram, Bosch) or some cheap asian brand? Some folks have had non-OEM bulbs act funny and in general not last very long. Also, the difference in color may be due to the fact that the bulbs have different hours on them. After X amount of hours, an HID bulb changes color a bit. So one bulb may be new and the other may have a few hours on it.

i think it turned out to be a defective bulb, it looks as if there is a crack at the base of it. the company was supposed to send me a RMA a couple of days ago, but of course it never came. The bulb worked perfectly when it wasnt in the housing, soon as I put it in the problems started. So I believe it was something wrong with the base. I an just fearful that it is goign to be a problem with the company because of course they are gonna say I cracked the base. SO I think it is gonna end with me having a $250 spare bulb

Forget the company and their bulbs. go here http://autolamps-online.com/products/orderform.htm If you continue to have bulb issues, stop by that place and you should be able to find what you need at a decent price.

Going from 4100k to a 6000k is not an upgrade my friend, but a downgrade.

Aftermarket kits are illegal. Hence why they are banned in the United States.

Aftermarkets HID kits are cheap quality. The only known company to use quality bulbs are from AutoLamp. They are rebased in Taiwan, but the bulbs are made from Germany (Philips). However, they are so expensive for subpar results you mine as well jump into the OEM category.
