Aftermarket Headlight help.
New to the website here, sorry if this is a noob question. I recently bought a 2003 G35 Sedan and I am looking to put black headlights in it but don't know what kind to get.
I have factory Xenon headlights on the 2003 G35 sedan but just wanting to get black to match my tail lights. I'm am stumped, could I use an aftermarket non-xenon (halogen with no ballast) and plug directly into the wiring harness or does the Xenon use a different wiring harness?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Aftermarket headlights are usually frowned upon especially on this forum. What I would suggest is that if you want black headlights, crack open your factory headlights and paint them yourself. Search "paint G35 headlights" for a DIY.
Only reason I haven't painted myself is I dread buffing the lenses inside and out. I believe that's what I'll end up doing. I do autobody for a living so I believe I can get it done without doing the search. Thanks for the reply.
There is no decent quality aftermarket headlight. Just separate, paint, reseal. Also you only need to buff the outside.
Or search the marketplace here for a used set of projector retrofitted headlights.

Most just reused the existing butyl sealand, just reheat and press. Some add an additional bead of butyl.

I had to polish insides of someones headlights once that had bad condensation. Easiest way is with mothers powerball and cone with some Mezerna cutting polish. Took me about 15 minutes per lens. Then wetsand and polish outside.

Ok I sure appreciate the help, mine isn't real bad just don't suit me. My next free weekend ill probably break them down and paint them.

Are aftermarket halogen reflectors not good as OEM? If ur getting non projector, I would get some aftermarket ones and not have to worry about all the work of baking them just to have condensation issues. plus u will have a new glass surface.
Just wanted to post a pic of how they turned out. It was fairly easy to do and saved me alot of money. Thanks for talking me out of the after markets, I am much more satisfied with the DIY and OEM.
