In all fairness, I don't think it's just posts like that... more like 17-year-olds in general that are slowly turning 'Driver into a Honda-esque ricefest

I was. I was helping my dad rebuild cars by age 8. At 16, worked part time as a mechanic at local truck stop.

Don't use your age as an excuse for your ignorance.

Seriously what is wrong with newer generation? I am currently on my 14th car and every single one, first thing I always did was get the Service Manual for the car and flip through it. Don't understand how people can go buy a car, drive it, mod it, and know absoultly nothing about it. I really think they just lack strong father figures in their lives. I owe almost everything to my dad.... except my tendancy to be an as*hole, I got that from being an officer in the Navy and dealing with kids like this all day.

Ha, I guess you are right. I think my breaking point was when some dumb kid asked how to take the turbo off his Mom's Mazda and put it on his G35.

Was it an RDX? I was thinking it was a CX-7. There was alot of little things before that, but that was the final straw I think.

It use to be when someone wanted to change color of their wheels, people in thread would suggest good powdercoaters and torque spec for multi piece bolts. Now when same question is asked, people talk about best place to get plastidip.

It use to be everyone wanted DPE, iFordged, HRE, Work, ect wheels. Now community wants Varrsteon, XXR, and other crap.

It use to be people would try to put the largest tire possible in the rear for traction, 305s, 315s, ect. Now people threads talk about how to get a 235 on a 12 inch rim with -5 degrees of camber.

It use to be owners would go to the track and compare their times against other cars, now it is all keyboard bench racing.

There use to be build threads, now it is all see what I got off ebay threads.

Owners use to ask for constructive critisim, now its just whiney kids calling people haterz because everyone doesnt love their latest spray paint ebay creation.

Basically this community has turned into hondatech.

I agree with many posts above. I wish I was a mod so I could close these Honda tech forums bleeding their way into the site.

It is what it is though.

^Not true. A car must have a 3 letter/number name in order to achieve greatness. Otherwise it's simply crap.
