New Paint
New Paint
My car was just keyed last night by some ******* jealous kids on campus. Literally right in front of my eyes but i'm three floors up so by the time i got down it was too late. The scratches are relatively deep and run from the rear lgiht to the front light getting deaper the further forward you get.
PS I asked the cop what would happen if i was to beat the living **** out of soimeone messing with a car. He exact words " beat the living hell out of him, more power to you, just don't leave evidence of you being there."
Whats done is done, i guess all i can do is get it repainted now.

That really sux.....sorry to hear some low life pc of $hit has nothing better to do with his/her life than to make others miserable......
I'm sure a good body shop will be able to get it looking like brand new....How much if any is you insurance deductable?
Same thing happened to my son at his job. Bought a new turbo golf, and some of his co-workers felt he didn't deserve to own a new car. Good thing he didn't catch them.....he would probably be in jail for what he would have done....
Once again...sorry and good luck

How many people here have been keyed on Campus? Mind saying what University it is?
I am always affraid this will happen. Ever since I had this car, Ive been nicer to people and polite and try not to "show off" on other's eyes as to avoid them hating me. I really dont know what I would do if my G were to be keyed. I wash her every Sunday or at least 3 times a month (8 hour washes with 3 zaino layers).
SundipKumar - you think someone hates you and did that to hurt you? or u think it was just jelousy?

Ban keys
I go to the Ohio State University and probably have an intersting track record. Being a naive 18year old i had a honda prelude with every gadget i could find including navigation, tv, ps1 etc etc back in 2000. I spent a fortune on it as i'd been saving over four years etc. Anyway three days later, car was gone and might as well have been destroyed. 14 grand worth of damage so a nice way to enter the game. 5 break in's later i took it back to the shop who did the first install and made them install the factory and literally told everyone there that i would no longer leave anything at all in my car. not even change. VOILA NO MORE BREAKS IN'S.
That being said, four years later, three cars later i think the campus hasn't gotten much better. Usually the cars that are broken into or damaged are ones with modifications done to them. Stock cars were generally left alone until last night. I am now 23 and can no longer get plastered at night and study the next morning so i stayed home. While i sat here reading my econ book, i watched three guys walk by my car, one suspiciously close to the door and towards the end of the car heard a loud scrape sound. Run down three floors, by then i think they'd realized i saw them and they took off. As far as jealousy goes, people will steal anything here, i think dogs are more choosy when it comes to taking things that don't belong. The cops complain all the time at the number of break in's (houses and cars) they have to deal with everyday.
As far as intent, i think it was just convenience, im indian, i know most of the indians on campus and they all know that if anyone ever does something like that, doesn't matter who's property it is, their life would be in danger of becoming a 180 of whatever it maybe. This just seemed to be three random guys who were cutting through my parking lot, drunk with no one around and figured lets ruin this guys night.
My ded is $500, i do have a friend with a body shop so hopefully we can figure something out because that 500 dollars was going to be used to install the av electronics unit next weekend.
End of the day, if its going to happen, it can happen to anything anytime anywhere and to anyone. I'm a huge car guy but i also know that things can and will happen, its inevitable so if you willing to spend this much on a car on a campus know that it can and usually will get messed with. Jealousy runs in veins, even your best friends might hate you for it. Wouldn't buy anything less though so get the quotes, get it fixed and put it down as another story to tell the grandkids.
Sorry for the length, buti have nothing but time today.

Read every last word of your post. I am sorry that happened to you. 500$ is not bad for them fixing from tailight to headlight. They probablly need to paint the door and 2 panels. I dont think they can just fix that scrape. I paid 300$ for them to repaint my bumper which is considerably smaller than painting the whole side of one car.
Dont you have ensurance though? For me, good thing I only had to pay for the bumper, which was a 1 day work. I can only imagine myself cursing if I get the metal scratched I hate having aftermarket parts and I know I would hate having a repainted car instead of original paint, but thats just me.
There was a friend who told me his prelude got broken into. They stole his stereo I think. Fortuantelly, I dont live on campus anymore so my worries are only when I attend University. Living off campus and parking below roof in front of my window is great. I still am affraid of someone scratching (key or accidentally while opening door) my car.

500 dollar deductible, im guessing the entire thing is gonna be in the 2-4 thousand range depending on the garage i take it to. I actually had a house with a garage i'd built a couple years ago but moved to london over a year ago so i sold it thinking i wouldn't move back to columbus ever again. Four months later i end up moving back onto campus but its anywhere. My car has been broken into parked downtown when i went to a bar so can happen anywhere. Honda are the number 1 target in columbus. Every window shop i've been too says they get more honda product then anything else. Easily modded and easy to access i guess. I hate paint jobs, makes me think about selling but the entire car is pristine and I've only had it 2000 miles and 4 months. Might just wait it out till graduation and see where I get a job. Anyone ever caught someone screwing with their cars? I would love to hear a nice i got the idiot and kicked his *** story.
