Radiator mount related to headlights?

Hi there,

I am new to the site as a member, but I have always enjoyed reading posts on the site for all the needs for my baby, a 2005 Serengeti sand G35.

I recently got into an accident in which my front left side collided with someone's right rear side, and had questions about the repairs.

It is cosmetic only, thankfully. No mechanical components incurred any damage, and the car runs beautifully as usual.

The damage affected 3 components from what I can tell, the front left quarter panel, the front left headlight, and the bumper. I took it to a body shop to get an estimate on the damage done, and they stated that it was gonna cost 3000 dollars to repair because the radiator mount needed replacing. I told him that the mount looked just fine to me, he stated that there was a section of it i cannot see because it is supporting the headlights, and since that part shattered with the headlight, the whole mount needs to be replaced.

I must know, is this a trick that he is playing on me? What is actually going on here?

He is referring to the core support which the headlights attach to. The area that is most likely damaged is behind the bumper area. This is a common item that will break due to it is made out of carbon fiber composite

350 for the radiator support (540 your price), a new set of headlights is 4-500, a new quarter panel, probably need a new shroud for the fans 130, maybe a new radiator (almost 700 unless you go AM which is around 310)

$1480

now they have to take off the quarter panels, install all that nonsense, and repaint the 1 quarter panel

3 grand sounds pretty ****ing nice.
