Pic of amber bulb in clearance light?

Hey -

I'm considering going with amber bulbs in my clear corners (keeping it legal), so I think it might be worth a try to put an amber bulb in the clearance strip to make it match... anyone have any pics of this?

Lame or not?

Thanks!

I have seen this before as well and it looks OK.

Keep in mind that even with the amber bulb, the clear corners are still technically illegal. Legally, the corner lenses must reflect amber. But don't sweat it, you shouldn't get hassled over it. I heard of a guy getting a ticket for improper equipment but he had white or blue LED's in his clear corners.

Thanks again skeleton - you're all over my questions lately!

I know the corners will still be illegal, but by that point I'm pretty sure that the average cop won't know that. I was even able to get through NJ inspection with the clear corners on my Maxima by having amber bulbs in there...

Anyway, I love the clears for the looks, but I'll never see the car from the exterior once the lights are on, so I don't mind making it a but *less* illegal! I'll have to get some of those silver coated amber bulbs...

I take it back, it doesn't look just OK, it actually looks really good.

Wicked, looks like a 350Z. Irvine78 has them and they sure look distinctive in person.

Sweet, puff, thanks for the pic. I'm torn on what to try - but the good news is that bulbs are a cheap mod, so I can always play around with it...

I think it will be hard, though not impossible, to match all the bulbs to each other (MTEC hi and stock low beams, PIAA Xtreme white clearance and corner should do it), but it might be fun to keep some amber illumination - especially on a darker car, like my black coupe.

Clear corners are a must, but I think i'll try to do what the owner of the car in Afro's pic did, but with amber bulbs in the clear corner, and the bulbs will have to be silver coated. I'll post pics once it happens, but seeing as my car is still on order, that may take a while!

To get it all to match, you have to use the bulb that comes in the clear corners in the clearance light. Other amber bulbs from pep boys/autozone/etc, may not match 100%. But it shouldn't be that hard to get an extra set of the JDM amber bulbs, since everyone with clear corners goes to white bulbs.

I just ordered the crystal corners for my black coupe. They don't come with bulbs, so I imagine I will have to use the stock bulbs...any idea what that will look like? Bueller? Bueller?

What the hell are crystal corners? And what makes you say they don't come with bulbs?

crystal corners

OEM "clear corners" have a slight fogged appearance...the ones I ordered have a crystal reflective gleam to them that will look good on black, but the guy I ordered them from says they do not come with bulbs..hmmm
