Plasti dipping/blacking out rear emblem + letters
Plasti dipping/blacking out rear emblem + letters
I've had trouble plasti dipping the letters + emblem on the back of my G35 since the plasti dip seems to always rip off a tiny part of the letter and it's hard to get inside the 2 Ns. I have the INFINITI and emblem black right now but I can tell it's far from perfect and I don't wanna plasti dip that s*** for a 3rd time. The G35 letters were so bad I just took off the whole thing.
So what I was going to ask is if it's hard to remove the letters then put it back on since I figure it would be a whole lot easier to black it out without having to rip off plasti dip off the body. When I removed my grill and plasti dipped it, it turned out pretty much perfect since I didn't have to rip off any plasti dip. Any help would be awesome, thanks!

Stop!! You're creating a nightmare! I can't believe you painted the emblem/letters without removing them!
Why not debadge the trunk for a much cleaner look? You may need to buff the lid to remove the shadows plus all the krud you might have left plasti dipping everything...but the results w/b worth it...Gary

So do you know anyone that has taken out letters/emblem then put it back on?
I'm thinking of debadging the G35 tho.

Generally, it is very easy to do this. I tried it on my old Altezza to see how it came out. It looked good and stayed in that condition to the day i sold it.
Did you use enough coats? and did you leave it long enough to dry correctly?
It should be as easy as peeling off the excess paint.
1. No you dont need to remove the badges to paint them with plastidip.
2. Debadge that bish.
Off that high horse Gary!

I sold my ART pipes to a member that debadged his trunk only to find out they were put on with super glue!
What do you think the results were?

No I didn't do it but I think the previous owner may have. The paint doesn't seem messed up. I'll post pics to show what it looks like some time soon.
