Wheel well has minor rust and lip is slightly bent

Hey, so my g35 has a minor rust spot that is starting to bubble a bit. Its not noticeable at all unless you look at it from underneath. Its where the rear fender meets with the bumper. Just wondering how I can fix this, do I just sand the rust off and repaint it? Can I use rustoleum since it wont be in plain sight after I roll the lip back?

I would THINK you can just use a rust inhibitor paint.....I would search autobody forums.

Best way unfortunately is to bring it down to metal knocking all the rust and protecting it properly with something. Rustoleum would work but I would be scared of overspray.

I am aware of comparative research into the effectiveness of rust converter products and Rustoleum bulk product is hands down and by far the most effective. Some actually cause more corrosion! However do not use the aerosol can version. Use the stuff you buy in a can. I do not recall if they tested spraying the bulk product versus brushing it on. The research objective was not auto uses but building materials, where brushing is perfectly fine for a finish. I'll try to remember to check into that nuance. EDIT: I should have included that it is independent research.
