Fog light bulb
#31
Whats your problem man? Just trying to figure out how to stop the wires from leaking onto the ballast while its screwed on. Don't know much about this because i just started messing around with the headlights. Sorry for trying to get help around this FORUM where people talk about their cars and problems their having.

What had happened as I said a few posts before this one is that when I first replaced the bulbs last week, I guess I didn't tighten the fog light cap/cover and it came loose. When I was driving in the rain, I guess the water got into the fog light opening and onto the ballast where it's mounted. I say this because when I first unscrewed the ballast, a lot of water started pouring down from it. Since the water was there, it got into the wires connected to the ballast and now every time I plug it in, no matter how much I dry it, it still leaks onto it causing the bulb not to work. I know this is the issue because I dry it, mount it back and it works until it starts to leak again. You say it's waterproof so I'm confused on what's happening
To make it more clear, I'm talking about the wire that screws in, in the middle.

That very same thing happened to me. I didn't get the fog light cover all the way back on (no inner fender liner either) and water got on top of the ballast and started "carbon tracks" in the plug and pins on the ballast, shorting it out. A good cleaning with De-Oxit and a wire brush fixed it.

It's good to know that this just doesn't happen to me haha. I fixed the issue this morning and it's now night, the headlight is still working and I'm satisfied with it. One thing though, how can I stop moisture going into the headlight? I dried it up again this morning and now, it looks like it has a good amount of moisture in it.
