removing steering wheel lock

so i am installing a push to start and i want it in the same position as the stock ignition cylinder. well i tried to cut down the stock g37 one to be thin enough to fit over the ignition cylinder but unfortunately it is still protruding wayy to much to my liking. since i am already cutting my key and sticking it in, defeating the steering wheel lock, i figured i might as well just go ahead and remove the lock completely. it looks like it is only held on by one safety screw. anyone have any tips on how to remove it?

can anyone confirm the lock is only held on by one safety screw?
